As I write this, Spoon is celebrating 25 years as a band and the 20th anniversary of their album Girls Can Tell. And it seems the band is still going strong! I got to see them open for Cage the Elephant and Beck in 2019. They remain one of my all-time favorites.
2007
When people ask me for my favorite, most perfect band, I do not hesitate to answer Spoon. There aren’t many bands that hold my attention for more than two albums, but Spoon just keeps getting more interesting (and more popular) with every release. Britt Daniel (guitar, vocals, songwriting) formed the group in Austin, TX with Jim Eno (drums).
About the interview
This is actually the second interview I did with Britt. The first, back in 2003, was rendered useless by bad audio. I’m lucky that Britt gave me a second chance (this interview went much better anyway!)

- Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal

- Put scoops of ice cream in bowl. Pour cereal on top. Eat!
