The Running Avocado
Luke Temple recommends this sandwich for people “on the go”. It’s a staple when he is busy in the recording studio. He likes to use “health bread” that he gets at a Polish deli in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, but any hearty bread will do.
Ingredients
your favorite hearty wheat bread, sliced
avocado, sliced
cheddar cheese
hot sauce
Instructions
Melt cheese on bread in oven. Place sliced avocado on bread. Hot sauce on top.
Simple Spinach Salad
Luke likes the light flavor of the rice vinegar with the spinach. All ingredients can be added according to your personal taste.
Ingredients
- baby spinach
- sushi rice vinegar
- shaved garlic
- olive oil
- salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
Mix shaved garlic with olive oil. Put on spinach. Sprinkle with rice vinegar. Eat.

Luke Temple is one of my favorite singer-songwriters of the pop-folk ilk. His guitar playing is masterful, his voice angelic, and his songs run the gamut from playful to thoughtful to soulful and many other charming points in between. Born in Massachusetts, he now resides in Brooklyn, NY.
